The Annual Billboard Music Awards Is Showing Tonight! Here’s What You Should Know About the Event.
The 2020 Billboard Music Awards are showing tonight, October 14th at 8/7 central on NBC and will be broadcasted live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The event will be hosted by pop singer and American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson. She has hosted the event for the past two years, and is now returning for her third consecutive year. Here are the highly anticipated guests that we hope to see at the show tonight.
Kelly Clarkson is said to begin the show with Pentatonix and Sheila E. in an opening performance of Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love”. She is one amongst the extensive list of performers that Billboard has announced, including Demi Lovato, Sia, Alicia Keys, and Doja Cat. BTS is also making an appearance as a nominee and performer to promote their latest single Dynamite, which is the group’s first entirely English track and has topped Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for multiple consecutive weeks. It was also announced that Garth Brooks will take to the stage to perform a medley of his biggest hits throughout his thirty-year career and John Legend will perform the song “Never Break” from his latest album Bigger Love.
Post Malone may win big with sixteen nominations in categories such as Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, and Top Streaming Song. He is nominated alongside other big name artists such as Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, the Jonas Brothers, and Khalid. Lil Nas X follows behind with thirteen nods, then Billie Eilish and Khalid with twelve each, and Lizzo at eleven. Kanye West has nine nominations, Taylor Swift has six, and lastly, Justin Bieber with nominations in four categories, finishes off the list of most nominated artists of the night.
