Viewers of the upcoming season of “The Voice” are in for an exciting new member in the coach chair. Ariana Grande announced on her Instagram the other day that she is “beyond thrilled, honored, and excited” to serve as a team coach for the show's twenty-first season.
The 27-year-old “34+35” singer joins three other professional music artists: John Legend, Blake, Shelton, and Kelly Clarkson, in formulating a team of talented aspiring artists. The contestants train and perform every single week in competition to win a hundred thousand dollars and a record deal with Universal Music Group. Ariana Grande shared her enthusiasm for this new undertaking with NBC, stating “I have been a huge fan of the show for such a long time….I can't wait to go head-to-head with the incredible coaches, get to know these new artists and help to take their craft to the next level."
The show also bids farewell to Nick Jonas, who alternated the seat with Blake Shelton’s fiancée, Gwen Stefani, while the other three slots have stayed consistent for the past six seasons. Jonas will be leaving the coach’s chair that Ariana will replace. She shared in her Instagram post that he will be missed.
