Dream to Career

Hello! If you’re reading this, it most likely means you’re looking for a more direct path to establishing an artist career, and we’re here to help.

Let’s start by introducing ourselves.

Here at EAR, we strive for excellence in our artists, their music, and the steps we take to get there. We don’t do this by cheating, paying for bot streams, or outsourced means, but rather we coach, plan, and execute customized strategies designed to bring your music organically from 0 to 100.

We’re different from traditional record labels.

We believe the focus should be on the artist. Considering the music industry’s rapidly changing environment, we see the clear issue with the old model, and are doing something a little different.

  • Record Labels no longer offer development for rising artists. EAR does.

  • Record Labels do not sign upcoming artists without proof of concept. EAR does.

  • Record Labels can take up to 80% of your revenue. EAR only takes 15%.

  • Record Labels outsource their marketing, EAR keeps this in house to keep costs low.

Now that’s out of the way. Let’s hear about you!

Introduce yourself:

The Artist Journey

  1. Assess. We start by assessing your strengths and weaknesses, discography, workflow, and placement in your niche. Common issues we find here include overspending, non-effective marketing or advertising strategies, outdated social media content strategies, and non-existant online presence. Don’t worry, we know how to fix all this.

  2. Review. Once we feel comfortable working with you and your music, we like to discuss an introductory strategy that will give us more data to work with. This is especially important if we want to understand the current demand for your genre. We do this by injecting a simplified marketing, content, and release strategy and collect data for future marketing purposes.

  3. Strategy. The standard jumping off point includes releasing 1 song every 2 months, a niche specific marketing strategy, and a focus on search engine optimization. We can easily do this in a few ways, but most commonly includes;

    1. Building a custom website; tailored to sound, image and bio.

    2. Designing a brand around your discography.

    3. Telling a story to interest new listeners.

    4. Connecting social, your website, and 3rd party sites to work together.

    5. Critically analyzing metrics to improve performance.

  4. Artist Hub. During this time you will expand your knowledge in all aspects of the music industry: From songwriting to marketing guides, industry trends to merchandising, and how to’s on all levels of running a music business. Learn more about Artist Hub.

  5. FFO. After your 2nd or 3rd release, we will have enough information to plan a successful strategy. In many cases, we focus on expanding your FFO matrix (For Fans Of - a selection of artists similar to your sound, determined by the streaming algorithms) by adjusting your marketing niche, content frequency, and clickfunnel implementation.

  6. Scale. At this point, the focus is on optimizing your process from start to finish. This includes songwriting and social media content creation, especially those looking to establish ROI within the first year. You will gradually go from 1 post per week, to one post per day to boost discoverability, engagement, and placements. If everything goes well, you will be well on your way to receiving royalties from streaming, ticket sales from shows, and online merchandise sales.

For some artists, these steps can take a few months to get into action. It is important to not get discouraged or distracted during this period, as everything needs to work together harmoniously to yield the best results. It’s also important to stay away from “get rich quick” advice (e.g. - paying for bot streams, cheap/fake marketing services, or spending too much money on advertising).
