Freddie Hall releases his debut double of "Brand New / Lady in the City"
Once upon a time, a man named Freddie sung on the streets of Canastota, New York. During his time there, he met a well known jazz vocalist that would influence his musical career for years to come. Now, Freddie Hall has been singing for over 40 years and has achieved massive success in his home country of America, as well as in various international markets. Hall has also toured internationally since 2005 performing in the UK, Germany, Italy, France and Austria. Throughout the years Freddie Hall has had the privilege of performing with Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, and a support act for The Three Degrees.
His newest double, Brand New / Lady in the City takes on the style of Nat King Cole, and many other genres such as jazz, soul, blues and Motown. While his influences can clearly be heard in his musical work, the relatively relaxed “vibey” progressions really put your headspace in a clear mindset. Brand New hosts beautifully organic guitar riffs, percussion, and Hall’s majestic vocals. Despite the tune’s old style feel, the overall tonality and quality can easily be viewed as a song that would make itself into many new movies today. On top of all this, his lyrics promote love and positivity when he sings “I love the way you make me feel late at night / When you say love me and you holding me so tight…Cause you make me feel so brand new.”
Lady in the City is the other song on this double release that is exclusively available on vinyl. If you enjoyed listening to Brand New, you can also own another quality song by the incredibly talented Freddie Hall by placing an order on his BandCamp page.
